[Im Galopp contains small duos, which encourage the joy of playing together and

Notes & Legend

"The main source for this Suite by Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707) is a
hand-written MS in German organ tablature, in the Thomas Ihre collection at
the University of Uppsala. Whether it was originally intended for a keyboard
instrument or for a lute is not known: while the part writing would certainly
present considerable technical difficulties for the average lutenist, there
does exist another version of the work for keyboard, which differs in some
respects from the Uppsala MS. Nonetheless, the character and spirit of this
Suite is ideally suited to the guitar - a fact which led me to make this
transcription which collates details from both sources." (Julian Brean)
There are many inconsistencies in the sheet's left hand fingering, especially
in the 2nd half of measure 13 and the first half of measure 14, where the
notes in the tab have been moved to the lower frets.
The tempo of the MIDI is 50 bpm (beats per minute - quarter notes).

Notes & Legend
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Coventry Carol (often called the Lullay Song) actually is not a Christmas
Carol because the words refer to Jesus as an infant, and are not actually to
do with the birth itself. However, in tradition it has been sung at Christmas
through several centuries. This Renaissance carol is named after the city of
Coventry, England. The fifteenth-century Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors,
which was performed in Coventry, depicted Herod's slaughter of the innocent
children. It was told in lyrics. The song is about the women mourning King
Herod's brutality. - Frank Perkins
The tempo of the MIDI is 80 bpm (beats per minute - quarter notes).
